Christie Franklin has served on the Board of Directors of Avalon Health Care Inc. since 2016. Ms. Franklin was President/Chief Executive Officer of Bristol Hospice LLC, a subsidiary of Avalon Health Care, Inc., from 2006 until 2015. In that capacity, she was responsible for the operation, planning and development of Bristol Hospice locations. Currently, she serves as Bristol Hospice’s Chairman of the Board responsible for the startup and development of Bristol Hospice LLC, which includes hospice locations in Salt Lake City, Utah; Sacramento, Stockton and Merced California; Honolulu, Hawaii; Atlanta, Georgia; the Woodlands and Waxahachie, Texas; Clackamas, Oregon; and Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ms. Franklin has more than 25 years of hospice and homecare experience.

Before joining Bristol, she was Vice President of Professional Services, Acquisitions and Start-Up for AseraCare, a wholly owned subsidiary of Beverly Enterprises from 1998-2006. Ms. Franklin’s extensive experiences in the development of homecare and hospice operations helped successfully start up 22 new hospices and homecare operations in 11 states between 2004 and 2006. She coordinated the company’s implementation of national Home Health and Hospice locations. Ms. Franklin’s other career experience has in the following positions: Vice President of Professional Services and Operational Development, Vice President Performance Improvement and Compliance, Corporate Director of Education and Disease Management, and Regional Vice President.

Ms. Franklin has been an active member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) serving on its Hospice Action Network Board of Directors, as well as on NHPCO’s Governance Committee and as Vice Chair of its Quality and Standards Committee. She also served as Chair of the NHPCO Quality Partners and Outcome Task Force.

She has been deeply involved in the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) organization, participating in its Strategic Planning Congress, Proprietary Advisory Board and Hospice Board, as well as co-chairing the Research Committee of NAHC’s Medicaid Council for Homecare.

She was a member of the HCAP Advisory Board from 2009 through 2014. She was appointed to the National Quality Forum for Home Health Quality Measures in 2004 and National Quality Forum for Hospice and Palliative Care Framework Review Committee in 2005. In addition, Ms. Franklin is a member of Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals for 2002-2003, 2004-2005, and 2006-2007 as well as the HCAP Advisory Board in 2009 and 2010.

Ms. Franklin has published many papers and presentations regarding hospice and homecare. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Management and received extensive homecare and hospice operation experience from being a registered nurse for more than twenty years. She has also received Certification for Home/Hospice Care Executives.
