Avalon Health Care Group Awarded the Laura Scott 2021-2022 Outstanding Influenza Season Activities Award by the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit
November 14th, 2022
Avalon Health Care Group has been selected as the National Winner of the 2021-2022 Laura Scott Outstanding Influenza Season Activities Award, presented at the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (NAIIS).
The NAIIS Immunization Excellence Awards recognizes the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations towards improved vaccination rates within their communities during the past year. Avalon Health Care Group was chosen out of 25 national finalists for its efforts to increase immunization awareness, access, and administration rates for both employees and the patient population.
Accepting the award on behalf of Avalon Health Care was Dr. Sabine Von Preyss-Friedman, Chief Medical Officer of Avalon Health Care Group.
“I am so proud of my facilities for all they have done to have come through on their pledge to keep our patients well and safe by getting immunized themselves.” Dr. Von Preyss said.
Since 2012, Dr. Von Preyss-Friedman has played a key role in improving vaccination awareness and increased immunization rates within the organization. Avalon’s Care communities now see nearly 90% immunization rates among employees annually. Her team’s efforts have created a culture of immunizing across Avalon, which contributed substantially to COVID vaccine efforts and infection mitigation over the past few years.
We applaud Dr. Von Preyss-Friedman and the entire clinical leadership team at Avalon Health Care for their role in championing immunization and earning national recognition in achieving this award.
